Join us as we recognise Worldwide Women’s Month, and permit us share some of the wonderful female minds that have contributed their perception and creative imagination to NAJO’s inventive journey. NAJO Founder Jo Tory, clarifies her inspiration for jewelry style and her favourite piece is from the new Aqua Assortment.

NAJO How did your love affair with jewellery get started and what drew you to turn into a jewellery designer?

I arrive from a inventive loved ones. My mom often experienced some kind of art or craft on the go, including building silver jewellery, and I played with the parts that surrounded me. So the enjoy of design and style was with me from an early age. It was when I lived in Mexico and experienced the wonderful craftsmanship there that I knew this was my route and impressed me to begin Najo. That craftsmanship directed the Najo brand ethos. When I returned to stay in Australia I required to elevate the notion of silver jewelry with properly-built items of modern day style. At that time there was absolutely nothing like that in the marketplace

NAJO When producing a new collection, what is your resourceful course of action and in which do you obtain your principal resource of inspiration?

I am frequently studying layouts and things of jewelry to make clear what may be in my head. Shapes, finishes, stones and the technological features of a piece will immediate how it turns out. I especially like on the lookout at historical jewelry from the Greek, Roman or Byzantine era. Styles and figurative particulars also perform a aspect, as in our Totem Assortment. I also like producing and expanding on styles that are previously in the Najo collection as it maintains that regularity.

NAJO The new Aqua Collection has just introduced. What can we search forward to looking at in the new assortment?

I appreciate all the fluid styles in Aqua. The Najo collection in typical has constantly experienced themes of water shapes functioning as a result of it with raindrops, waves and ripples, so it was particularly beautiful to showcase this with Aqua. There is a wonderful series of earrings with jelly-like stone drops in watery, translucent colors.

NAJO A lot of your style and design is encouraged by the organic planet, with this period becoming influenced by the stream and colour of the h2o. What is it about mother nature that fascinates you as a jewelry designer?

Character is perfect so there is so a great deal to inspire! I significantly adore natural and organic shapes, the tender curves and twists and asymmetry in the all-natural environment. Those fluid designs discovered in h2o are so smooth, female and luscious, they really lend them selves to jewellery structure.

NAJO Tell me about the evolution and vary of your variations of NAJO’s jewellery?

The Danish jewellery designers have generally influenced my work. That is, strong, very well-crafted silver models with clean, modern day traces, oxidized patterning and trims – all of these things are embraced in the NAJO collections, and our aesthetic has remained constant. Excellent is paramount and we regularly attempt to retain that standard.

NAJO What sets NAJO aside from other Jewellery manufacturers?

There is a typical simplicity to Najo styles that make them quite timeless. They are all imbued with the very same aesthetic, which will make them recognizable.

Jo’s Jewelry Pick’s

“I like eco-friendly, and so peridot is just one of my favourite stones (alongside with emeralds and tourmalines!). The Cosmic Peridot ring has all the Najo elements: it is a daring design (12mm wide), a wonderful natural condition, significant polish silver with a seamless flush established faceted stone. It is a winner!”

“The Mercury Chain Necklace has been on a black suede wire for lots of several years in our collection. It is this kind of a wonderful condition that we made the decision to hang it on a lengthy 80cm sterling silver snake chain to give it another dimension. The silver chain offers it a cascading impact that culminates in this lovely bold teardrop that conjures up the move of h2o, it is a important structure of the Aqua Collection.”

“A single of my favourite designs that we use pretty a lot in Najo types is the teardrop. This bracelet is the smaller model of our vintage Pool of Tears bracelet. Being that significantly finer it is so delicate and female, mild and easy to dress in. It is refined, but the shapes of the drops and the significant polish make it an beautiful and swish assertion.” Pair with the Pool of Tears Ring.

“I just love the Manner Yellow Huggie! I adore it in both of those silver and in gold plate. It definitely is a timeless style and is of complete simplicity. It is sophisticated, stylish and can be worn on any occasion. The huggie types are fantastic as they are super cozy to wear and are the same both equally entrance and again, so they appear really neat and comprehensive.”
