The Shopper Affairs Ministry on Friday said that the Bureau of Indian expectations (BIS) has now made provisions for consumers to be ready to get the purity of their unhallmarked gold jewelry examined at any of the recognised Assaying and Hallmarking Centres (AHCs). It has also introduced specific guidelines for screening of gold jewelry of widespread citizens .
The govt is hallmarking 3 lakh gold content with hallmark distinctive identification (HUID) each working day in line with the implementation of the obligatory hallmarking norms.
”The AHC shall undertake the testing of gold jewellery from prevalent individuals on priority and present a check report to the purchaser. The exam report issued to the shopper will guarantee the purchaser about the purity of their jewellery and will also be handy if the customer needs to market the jewellery,” the ministry claimed.
It additional that AHCs will demand ₹200 for tests of up to four content articles of gold jewelry. For five or far more content articles, the rates are ₹45 for every posting.
